SquarePeg – What is it?

People are talking about it, many have attended an event, many now have profiles online and there is a buzz starting as reality of the potential sets in – but what is it?

SquarePeg holds large high energy networking events – but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. SquarePeg has a sophisticated online platform that is designed to facilitate online 24/7 networking, collaboration, knowledge share and discussion. It does this in a way that resembles grown-up social media. It is not, however another facebook or linkedin! The ethos is positive, supportive and reinforced by rules around supporting each other and being selfless. It’s no surprise to realise that the concept is a not for profit initiative that has been launched under the auspices of the Positive Psychology Network. www.ppnetwork.org PPN is a think tank for Positive Psychology and runs programmes around self esteem and Positive Online Culture. With facebook being raked over the coals in a negative light recently  – there is a very real shift in the feelings towards online culture, and some would say that a positive platform like SquarePeg has been very well timed indeed…

What makes it different?

The difference lies within the fact that difference is acknowledged and celebrated at SquarePeg. We are all different shapes – quite often trying to hammer ourselves into the wrong shaped hole. If you find your “shape” then the world seems to just fit around you and it is effortless. People are Square, Circular, Triangular or Squiggly as basic personality types. You can find out more about this in our next article. Each of these shapes fits into a different environment and represents a different way of being. We celebrate this as SquarePeg both online and at our events. At SquarePeg – the round holes fit in with us…

Our events are high energy, fun, you can wear what you like, drink tea, coffee, beer, wine, pop or water. There is food, interesting speakers, knowledge sharing and networking galore!  It is designed to take the best out of Networking. If you enjoy networking or find it beneficial – then you are in for a treat… Visit our events page to book onto the next event…
